Save Gmail Photos to Google Photos Directly

Get ready to start viewing a "Save to Photos" option right next to "Save to Drive," whenever you get a Gmail message with an attachment. This new update will let you save your photos directly to Google Photos, without manual exertion of transferring files.

You'll be able to save images from Gmail to Google Photos but this feature is available only for "JPEG" format for now.

How to Save Photos?

It's simple. Whenever you receive an email in Gmail with an attachment, just open it and you can view "Save to Photos" option right next to "Add to Drive" option.

Availability of the Feature "Save to Photos"

This feature will be available to everyone, business or individual, but the rollout may take up to 15 days beginning from May 26, 2021, as announced by Google.

This will be available to all Google Workspace customers, G Suite Basic, and Business customers. Also available to users with personal Google Accounts.

Avail this feature as much as you can to save your high-quality photos because Google Photos’ free unlimited storage is going away on June 1, 2021, and will be replaced with 15GB storage only. Above this limit, you'll have to purchase additional storage.
